‘Like Grandma Used to Make’

May 20, 2013 by Coastlines

Tea 2Monday, May 20, 2013. We’ve been saying it for years: “…just like Grandma used to make.” It’s now the title of a new cookbook by Rebecca Sullivan to be launched at Alexandrina Cheese Company on Thursday, May 23.

The launch is in the form of Australia’s Biggest Afternoon Tea with proceeds going to a wonderful cause – Cancer Council, which is celebrating 20 years of fundraising.

Rebecca, a self-taught cook, eco-agronomist, food writer and television presenter, is part of the new ‘granny skills’ movement – a growing community of women. They share and preserve traditions of older generations by collecting and passing them on.

This special afternoon tea will be a great opportunity to meet Rebecca, who will share her cooking experiences and be available to sign copies of her new book, ‘Like Grandma Used to Make’.

Bookings are essential for this Australia’s Biggest Afternoon Tea at Alexandrina Cheese, 37 Sneyd Road, Mt Jagged (8 km south of Mt Compass). Be there at 1.45pm for 2pm; rumours suggest the coffee and delicious cake will be sensational. T: 8554 9666 or email: info@alexandrinacheese.com.au
