Tourism across the Fleurieu Peninsula has received a huge boost with the implementation of an exciting new website: www.visitalexandrina.com

It is being presented by the Alexandrina Council, which is phasing out its previous tourism website.

The new concept offers some brilliant features, including the ability to view and book online a wide range of accommodation and tour offers for a specific location, map a trail of your key interests, and present restaurant/hotel options. It can also give you the latest weather forecasts and lead you to other great web locations.

In effect, visitalexandrina.com encourages people to discover our region and explore without coming here and doing everything by chance.

Importantly, the website is streamlined with steps easy to follow. It has easily achieved its aim of presenting the best the Fleurieu has to offer and reaching its target. The plan-and-print option – mapping a tour guide – is excellent.

The new website is the result of incredible planning and hard work of the Alexandrina Council’s tourism and visitor services team, but optimum success levels can only be achieved by the tourism operators themselves – providing their information and making the website work for them. Obviously, it is to their huge benefit.

The Council hosted tour operators at an official Iaunch of the new site at Centenary Hall, Goolwa, and learned first-hand how the simple new site worked.

Identifying a need to provide a new website was tremendous vision by the Alexandrina Council, and Mayor Kym McHugh, who launched www.visitalexandrina.com described the concept as exciting.

“The new website can provide tour operators with new opportunities to connect with visitors,” he said.
